Tame the money tiger when it comes to buying lingerie
As if acquiring great clothing wasn’t expensive enough, you don’t want to have to spend a fortune on underwear, too! Here’s how to control some of your costs without “busting” the budget.
Buy the correct one in the first place
Make sure you choose a bra that fits your size and shape. The wrong one will wear out/stretch out faster because it’s working against your body type.
The right bra for the right occasion
There is no one bra for everything – no, not even the beloved T-shirt bra. Don’t try to go running in a strapless bra, nor should you wear a sports bra under an evening gown.
Wash them properly
Don’t throw your money down the drain by laundering your bras incorrectly. Always follow the instructions that came with the bra. This typically means using a mesh bag (for the washer) or hand-washing them. Also, unless the manufacturer recommends otherwise, never bleach your bras. The bleach can break down fabric quickly. And needless to say, putting them in the dryer is a big no-no!
Rotate your bras
Rotate your bras like you do your tires, using a different one every day or week. This guarantees they don’t fall apart all at once, leading you to make speedy (and expensive) replacements!
