Let’s face it: it’s harder to look good in winter. Half of you is covered (or wants to be) in puffy down coats that make you look like a marshmallow, or bulky scarves, gloves and hats that hide your nicest features. But there is a way to look greater during the colder months, even – gasp! – in a dress.
Faux real fashion
Faux furs are fashionable for a reason — not only are they extra cozy, but they make you look like a million bucks. They’re also easy to don if the thought of harming animals for fashion makes you queasy.
If you thought maxi dresses were only for summer, you’re dead wrong! As long as you layer them with thicker pieces, there’s no reason not to wear them in winter. In fact, their length makes them perfect for keeping those stiff winter breezes away from your legs.
Back in black
If you love wearing short skirts, even in winter, don’t shove them to the back of your closet just yet. If you’ve got a pair of thick tights or leggings, those skirts are back in business! Black is best for covering your legs: it goes with anything, plus its color draws in heat (unlike lighter colors, which deflect it).
